-Outdoor atmosphere
-Free parking
Saw A Great performance by Counting Crows and Matchbox 20. My only complaint is rude bunch on woman behind us talking through the ENTIRE concert. I even asked them to stop talking but they selfishly talked more. Tried to enjoy a nice evening with our teenage sons and their takeaway was "People are self absorbed" and I couldn't argue. It would be nice if they made a video of show and we could enjoy the music in the comfort of our home. My message to them is next time get lawn seats where it's a little more OK to talk. Save the seats for the real fans who appreciate the talent they paid to see! Thank you Adam and Rob for an incredible show. You sound great!
Cons:
-Leaving the concert is a HUGE pain; it typically takes 60 to 90 minutes to leave the parking lot because of the traffic bottleneck getting from the parking lots out to the main road
Pros:
-Originally known as Great Woods Center for the Performing Arts, this place gets renamed frequently depending on naming rights contracts
Small venue to see a summer concert. Security and police do a good job. Covered seats towards the stage appear to be age 25+ crowd while the back / lawn seat area look young (
The sound is great. The views, even from the last row of seating, were really good. The staff was friendly - the guys selling the beer/wine remembered us/our order when we went back up about 40 minutes later! There only two down sides: the prices of the drinks and the length of time it takes to leave. Be prepared to stay an hour after you get back to your car - even if you get there before the music stops for the night.
-Tailgating allowed before the show (usually)
Always a good time. Great parking, but slow to get out. All the seats are great unless the weather turns. The big screens are great if you're in the back or on the lawn. Get ready for a $14 Bud Light though. I try to only come here for Iron Maiden shows. Completely sold out and a rocking good time this year \m/
-30 to 40 shows per year featuring big name acts
One of my favorite places to see a concert in the summertime. I've been here about 20 times. As much as I like it, it is not without its flaws. Here are the pros and cons:
-Drinks are obscenely expensive
